Parents interested in Japanese art, have you decided where to go during winter break? Starting the day after tomorrow, you can take your kids to the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum in Chiayi! The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum is launching a family-friendly discount event for the “Best of Japanese Art” special exhibition this winter break. From January 14 to February 12, as long as one parent buys one full-price package ticket, they can bring up to three students below junior high school age in for free. The Southern Branch invites the whole family to enjoy Japan’s national treasures together.
The National Palace Museum stated that during this winter break, the Southern Branch is exhibiting the “Best of Japanese Art — Tokyo & Kyushu Museums Masterpiece Exhibition”, displaying many rare Japanese classic artifacts. To encourage family visits, the Southern Branch has specially launched the “Family Visit to the Southern Branch, Package Ticket Discount” program.
The museum noted that from the 14th to February 12, as long as one parent buys a full-price ticket for NT$250, they can bring three students below junior high school age in for free to view the “Best of Japanese Art” special exhibition. There are also various discount programs for groups, students and Chiayi County/City residents.
Besides the Japanese special exhibition discount, the museum said, during winter break there is still an afternoon tea event every Saturday, suitable for parents and children to participate in together. On January 14, a “knot-tying” activity for the whole family is offered, to take the good fortune of “knots” home; on the 21st, parents and children are invited to wear yukata and join a costume show together.
