At last month’s Facebook F8 developer conference, CEO Mark Elliot Zuckerberg announced that Facebook would launch a brand-new version, “FB5.” Besides thoroughly strengthening personal privacy protections, it also aims to shake off the company’s long string of negative news through a completely new interface design.
The most obvious change in FB5 is its basic identity color within the CIS corporate brand image design, shifting from the traditional dark blue (RGB 59 87 157) to a fresher, brighter blue (RGB 24 119 242, HEX).

The change in Facebook’s color identity
Well, I actually discovered this color change in the dead of night, half asleep and half awake. I’d originally woken up intending to record the contents of my dream, but for a moment I couldn’t find where the Facebook app was. Seeing the image above, everyone should know what the reason was, right?
That’s right — Facebook FB5’s new color, combined with a gradient, unexpectedly looks 87% similar to Twitter. Especially since I placed them one above the other, it turned into one giant gradient color scheme (laughs).
