Today I want to share with you a delicious way to make chocolate cookies. This recipe is a variation based on the “Handmade Liqueur Chocolate / Dessert Recipe.” When I was originally making liqueur chocolate for Wanzhen, I used the leftover ingredients to make these chocolate cookies. I had Wanzhen share these cookies with her bank colleagues as an afternoon tea snack. As a result, they received praise from her colleagues.
Below is the recipe and required ingredients for handmade chocolate cookies (makes 30):
- Unsalted butter 170g
- Fine granulated sugar 100g
- A pinch of salt
- 1 whole egg
- Cake flour 180g
- Cocoa powder 20g
- Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Chocolate chips 200g
Below are the steps for making handmade chocolate cookies:
- Let the butter, sugar, and salt soften at room temperature. Beat the butter with a whisk until it becomes a smooth cream, then add the sugar in two or three batches, scraping the bottom and mixing until the butter turns slightly white.
- Add the whole egg in two batches, mixing evenly.
- Sift in the cake flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder, fold and mix with a rubber spatula, then add the chocolate chips and continue mixing until the dough is an even brown with no dry flour visible and the chocolate chips are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Use a spoon to scoop an appropriate amount of dough and arrange it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 165 degrees and bake for about 18 minutes.
These handmade chocolate cookies are very simple to make, requiring only some basic ingredients and a few steps. The baked cookies are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a rich texture, and the aroma of the chocolate chips is mouth-watering. Whether enjoyed by yourself or shared with friends, these delicious chocolate cookies will bring you a delightful taste experience. Let us get to work and make them together!
