Avianca (Spanish: Aerovías del Continente Americano S.A., abbreviated Avianca, meaning “American Continent Airways,” IATA: AV) is the national airline of Colombia and, like EVA Air, a member of the Star Alliance. Its headquarters are in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia. Using Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport as its central hub, it is the second-oldest continuously operating civil airline in the world.

In 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic (commonly called the Wuhan virus pneumonia), Avianca introduced its Worry-Free ticket change fee waiver policy. Anyone who issued an Avianca ticket between March 4 and March 15, 2020, and planned to complete travel before December 31, 2020, could enjoy one completely free ticket change.
