Mainland China recently announced the cancellation of the requirement for a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours before travel, replacing it with a requirement to present a negative rapid test result within 24 hours. This policy makes travel across the Taiwan Strait more convenient. It has also led more people to start planning trips to the mainland to enjoy its food, scenery, and culture.
According to Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the People’s Republic of China, this new policy took effect on April 1 and applies only to cross-strait passenger routes. For travelers entering the mainland via a third location, a negative nucleic acid test certificate within 48 hours from the place of origin is still required. In addition, all travelers must still fill out a health declaration card when entering and exiting customs.
This policy adjustment brings more convenience and opportunities for mainland travel. In the mainland, travelers can taste a wide variety of foods, from Peking duck to Cantonese dim sum to Sichuan hot pot, each dish carrying local flavor and character.
In addition, the mainland has many fascinating attractions, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and West Lake, which draw many domestic and international travelers. The local culture is also very rich, from Peking opera to folk art, allowing travelers to experience the region’s unique cultural charm.
If you are planning a trip to the mainland, this policy adjustment offers you more convenience. Remember to prepare a negative rapid test result within 24 hours in advance and fill out the health declaration card, making your trip more reassuring and enjoyable.
