Cambodia Customs Entry Regulations Update (10/20)

As COVID-19 vaccination rates become widespread around the world, countries are gradually revising and relaxing their entry regulations for overseas travelers. For example, Southeast Asian nation 🇰🇭 Cambodia (Kingdom of Cambodia, Khmer: ព្រះរាជាណាចក្រកម្ពុជា) has issued the following latest customs entry review regulations.

Cambodia Entry and Quarantine Regulations (Updated October 20, 2021)

1. All visa-free and visa-on-arrival measures are suspended. Online e-Visa applications are open.

2. All travelers must hold a negative PCR nucleic acid test certificate issued within 72 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure (issued and stamped by a medical institution, in English).

3. Foreign nationals entering the country must meet the following conditions:

4. Hold a valid Cambodian visa (when applying for the visa, a guarantee letter or invitation letter from the employing company must be attached. If you are a company employee dispatched to work in Cambodia, you must apply for and obtain a work permit from the Cambodian Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training).

5. Purchase an official partner program insurance confirmation (printed in color), with coverage of USD 50,000, at USD 90/day, for a total of 20 days.

Upon entry, a USD 2,000 deposit must be paid to cover hotel costs and PCR testing fees on the day of entry and on the 6th day (or 3rd day), or present a booking confirmation from one of the 5 designated partner hotels appointed by the Cambodian government (Sokha Phnom Penh Residence, Courtyard by Marriott, Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, Himawari). Cambodian nationals holding a Cambodian passport, or those holding a foreign passport who have applied for a visa K, are not required to pay the deposit.

7. Quarantine Measures

8. General travelers (regardless of nationality): Those who are fully vaccinated (2 doses, completed at least 14 days before entry) must present a vaccination card or relevant certificate upon arrival (with an English name matching the passport), and are quarantined for 7 days after entry;

9. Those who do not provide proof of vaccination are quarantined for 14 days after entry.

Other travelers:

1. Senior international delegations and high-level returning Cambodian missions: their PCR nucleic acid test certificates and quarantine days are determined by the government on a case-by-case basis.
2. Civil servants returning from overseas business trips, diplomats of other countries and officials of international organizations, investors with guarantees or invitations, businesspeople, and foreign experts are quarantined for 3 days after entry.
