The Garmin Instinct series watch is a style I quite like, and I even eccentrically bought the yellow model with a super hard-to-match color. Although it looks good, I still occasionally regret it a little, wondering why I did not buy the white one back then.
I have had the Garmin Instinct watch for about two years now. Overall, besides being powerful and tough, it is also more durable than a Xiaomi band, making it a watch with fairly high value for money. And the battery performance seems to have held up well, unlike the lithium batteries of ordinary handheld devices, whose performance easily drops significantly. This is not even the solar model that came out later, and occasionally forgetting to charge it until it directly disconnects is a common occurrence.
But two years is probably also the critical threshold for some part of this kind of digital watch. This time, one side of its silicone strap broke a little, which made it too awkward to put on and take off afterward, so I simply bit it with scissors ✂️ and cut off that small piece (as shown in the cover image).
The remaining strap is still enough to wear the watch normally, but I have also started looking for a new strap. If it is the same model of strap from Garmin’s original factory, one costs around just over a thousand NT dollars, but my heart is still young and unsettled (singing), so naturally I want to change things up a bit.
This brings us back to the matter of color mentioned at the beginning of the article. Yellow is not only hard to match with clothes, but although it looks good, even various strap colors are hard to match with a yellow watch face!
After trying for a while, I found that the color that best suits a yellow watch face is really only Garmin’s own original straps. Even yellow straps from other manufacturers do not work; instead, the two kinds of yellow look even stranger.
If you really do not want to go back to the original yellow strap, I suggest finding a pure black silicone or canvas strap. At least the watch face part still has some black, which can create a transitional color effect, so at least it will not look too strange.
