The Taiwan Central Personnel Administration has announced next year’s 2016 (ROC year 105) administrative agency office calendar, and the number 3934443 appeared, representing the number of days of each consecutive holiday. In other words, 2016 has a total of 7 consecutive holidays of at least three days or more to play hard. Even more surprising is that there is even a consecutive holiday as long as 9 days, which compared to this year’s (2015) longest spring break of 6 days[1] is a full three extra days off!

The editor suggests everyone take advantage of now to arrange next year’s Lunar New Year spring break travel as early as possible, otherwise you won’t be able to buy plane tickets and can only watch others travel everywhere on Facebook! (Mantou: Isn’t it too early to be thinking about days off now!)

In the administrative agency office calendar officially released by the Central Personnel Administration, we can see that next year 2016 (ROC year 105) has a full one more day off than this year (2015), with the total number of days off in the 365-day year reaching 116.

Consecutive holidays of three days or more are also one more than this year (2015), reaching a total of 7 consecutive holidays. Among them, Qingming (Children’s Day), the Dragon Boat Festival, and the Mid-Autumn Festival each also have consecutive holidays as long as four days.

The quality and quantity of 2016’s consecutive holidays can be called the best in recent years! I believe the tourism industry’s prospects will be flourishing by then.

However, the editor must specially remind everyone that this holiday schedule is based on the official civil servants’ annual calendar, and only schedules make-up days off for “commemorative days” and “major folk festivals.” For example, 2016’s Labor Day (May 1) happens to be a Sunday, so there will be no make-up day off. Therefore, the actual holiday schedule should still be based on each company’s and business’s own schedule!

I hope everyone can make good use of these consecutive holidays for various commemorative days and festivals, and enjoy life more amid the tight, busy work.

By the way, next year’s Spring Festival holiday bar is simply off the charts—the break is really long (Mantou: friends in the service industry will have to work hard for several more days).
