New Taipei Sanzhi Yoshino Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom: Experience Spring on the Sansei Trail

With bright spring sunshine and blossoms bursting across northern Taiwan, Sanzhi District in New Taipei City has entered its most enchanting season. The renowned “Sansei Trail” stretches approximately 2 kilometers, lined with more than 300 Yoshino cherry trees. The New Taipei City Landscape Administration estimates peak blooming will arrive in mid-to-late March, blanketing the riverside pathway in a gentle carpet of soft pink petals that draws enthusiastic nature lovers from across the island.

Beyond the pastel-hued Yoshino cherry blossoms, vibrant golden daffodils bloom simultaneously along the stream banks. Their contrasting yellow petals complement the pink canopy overhead, creating a picturesque, limited-time pastoral haven nestled against the foothills.

To celebrate the annual blossom festival, the Sanzhi District Office is organizing cherry blossom hiking events along with open-air artisan markets and DIY craft workshops, offering a well-rounded day trip for families and photography enthusiasts.

If you wish to immerse yourself deeper in northern Taiwan’s natural charm, consider taking a short detour to “Tianxinzi” along Sanzhi’s North 8 Rural Road. When skies are clear, this sprawling wetland mirror reflects azure skies, drifting clouds, and emerald hills like an exquisite ink wash painting—a visual spectacle that becomes especially captivating during the golden hour of sunset.
