Two years ago, when I was planning to buy a game console, I was considering between two major gaming platforms: Sony’s PlayStation 4 and Nintendo’s Switch.
Although I ultimately chose the PS4 because the Chinese version of Dragon Quest Builders 2 was still platform-restricted at the time, I still sold it after playing for over a year and bought a Nintendo Switch instead.
This time, taking advantage of a sale period, I ordered the digital online version of “Mario Tennis Aces” from the official Japanese online store, and within a few days I received a notification email in my registered inbox.
Because it was in Japanese, I thought it was just an ordinary advertising email and almost deleted it casually — little did I know that when I opened it, it turned out to be a message informing me of a little gift.
Please refer to the image below. Through the dedicated URL included in the email, “Mario Tennis Ace Wallpaper,” you can find beautiful wallpapers (background images) sized for different device screens on Nintendo’s official website.

Although it is only a virtual digital wallpaper, for a Nintendo beginner like me, it was still quite delightful.
Moreover, this dedicated link cannot be found even by searching on the official website, and there is no specific page that compiles and displays these little gifts. It counts as a very simple limited edition, so there is still a bit of vanity involved. Nintendo really knows how to play (gazing into the distance).
