In response to the grand opening of Terminal 2 (T2) at Chubu Centrair International Airport (中部国際空港セントレア) on September 20, multiple international low-cost carriers (LCCs) operating routes into Nagoya are transitioning operations from Terminal 1 (T1) over to the newly constructed Terminal 2.
Consequently, airport service fees—specifically the Passenger Service Facility Charge (PSFC) and Passenger Security Service Charge (PSSC)—are being adjusted according to respective airline fare structures.
International budget airlines that have already relocated flight operations to Terminal 2 include AirAsia Japan, Jetstar Japan, Air Busan, Jeju Air, T’way Air, and Cebu Pacific, with additional low-cost carriers scheduled to join in subsequent phases.
Tigerair Taiwan, an operating subsidiary under China Airlines (the national flag carrier of the Republic of China, ROC), will officially shift its Nagoya operations from T1 to T2 starting December 1, 2019. Travelers holding issued tickets on the “Taoyuan-Nagoya” and “Kaohsiung-Nagoya” routes will experience updated service fee schedules:
Passenger Service Facility Charge (T2):
- Adults: 1,300 JPY per passenger.
- Children (under 12): 650 JPY per passenger.
Passenger Security Service Charge (T2):
- Adults: 350 JPY per passenger.
- Children (under 12): 350 JPY per passenger.
Tigerair Taiwan stated that for flight bookings made for travel on or after December 1, 2019, the revised fees will be integrated directly into the ticket purchase total at the time of booking.
Regarding refunds for previously overcollected airport fees, Tigerair Taiwan confirmed that passengers who purchased tickets before October 18, 2019 (09:59 AM) for flights between December 1, 2019 and March 28, 2020 will receive automatic refunds for the price differential by October 29, 2019, with crediting timelines subject to individual credit card issuer processing schedules. Tickets purchased for travel following March 28, 2020 already adhere to the finalized fee structure.
