Tonight is Christmas Eve, and V Bear wishes everyone here a Merry Christmas! I hope you can spend this meaningful day together with your family and loved ones. ^__^

Lately, whenever there’s a memorable occasion or the anniversary of a celebrity I like, I design some Logo variations with V Bear to use as my Facebook profile picture (V, of course, stands for the domain name Vedfolnir).

This time, with Christmas coming around, it’s no exception. I specially put a reindeer hat on V Bear—doesn’t it look super cute?

As for the other design elements in the background, they were actually materials I designed years ago for a special Christmas card I made for an elderly couple in New Zealand.

That year in New Zealand I met an elderly couple and spent some time with them. A few days later it happened to be Christmas, so I designed a Christmas card and gave it to them as a small gift. This time I just sneakily took the original draft and reworked it for use.

Although I’m not a Christian, any day worth celebrating is a day to party, and any festival is a reason to wish everyone happiness—that’s the proper life etiquette of a good citizen.

Moreover, some of the schools I attended in the past were Catholic or Christian schools. At such schools, Christmas lets you feel their distinctive religious atmosphere even more. This has kept me holding a view of Christmas different from the commercial one.

But what moves me most about Christmas is actually the day after Christmas, December 26, known in English-speaking countries as Boxing Day—similar to China’s 1111 Singles’ Day or America’s Black Friday. Simply put, it’s a day when stores offer crazy, killer discounts across the board. I bought several pieces of my mountaineering gear on this day at less than 50% off.

Finally, a quiet question: the New Year long weekend is just a few days away—are you all excited!?

And this time there’s no make-up workday!!! (Status display: gone crazy.)
