「道法橫常」台南府城 2007 比賽文學創作
劍獅之外觀態樣，可看出其尊道奉法的正氣，令人們保有辟邪、鎮煞及祈福的恆常庇祐，並取「恆」字的同音異體字「橫」，延伸說明此劍獅不僅擁有木質的精雕設計，更表現先聖荀子在禮論中所述：「衡誠縣矣，則不可欺以輕重。」的公平、公正內涵。
"The Way and the Law, Ever Constant" — Tainan Prefecture 2007 Competition Literary Creation
From the appearance of this sword lion, one can see its righteous spirit of honoring the Way and upholding the law, keeping for people the constant protection of warding off evil, suppressing misfortune, and invoking blessings. Taking the homophone variant "heng" (horizontal) of the character "heng" (constant), it further explains that this sword lion not only possesses a finely carved wooden design, but also expresses the fairness and justice contained in the words of the ancient sage Xunzi in his "Discourse on Ritual": "When the balance is truly hung, one cannot deceive it with light or heavy."
